Console Configuration Suite

Main Page

The console configuration suite is a console based suite of utilities for configuring a Red Hat based system. (Mandrake should be close enough to Red Hat to still work.) It is currently under development. Working components include: Date & Time, Networking, and a very basic SE Linux configurator.

Date and Time lets you set the current date, time, and Time Zone.

The network configuration utility is a powerful shell script that uses dialog for its gui. It currently allows you to:

* Edit global settings
* Configure DNS
* Add/Edit/Delete Ethernet Interfaces
* Add/Edit/Delete Interface alias and clones
* Add/Edit/Delete Routes

If you are familiar with hand editing the network settings, the network config utility allows you to setup networking in just a matter of seconds.

The SE Linux configurator lets you: see the current SE Linux Status, dynamically turn on or off enforcement, and relabel the file system. This utility is still under development.

NEW: There is now central menu utility called system-config. Use it to navigate to whatever task you wish to accomplish.

There is also a specfile in the ccs package. You can compile rpms by doing the following: rpmbuild -tb ccs-0.11.tar.gz

Download: ccs-0.11.tar.gz  (~25k, updated 8/15/04)
